Who we are
Phil and Clare Married in 2006, and have been together since 1999.
Both partners are heavily involved in the community, and Businesses of their own, and are driven to early retirement and a quality lifestyle both in Canterbury New Zealand, with NZ winters spent in the Sunshine Coast of Australia.
A love for the mountains, outdoors, sports involving Mountain Biking, Off Road Motor Bikes (this place is brilliant for the freedom to roam), International travel 2-3 times a year, water sports, adventure travel, and hosting HOME BASED functions at the ‘LODGE’.
No children and none planned. ‘Simba’ is their Chocolate Lab (whom is well travelled herself) and spoilt beyond belief.
Phil has achieved a great deal over his working career.
Begun freedom travelling at the age of 21, he has lived and worked in Australia, South Africa, the UK, Indonesia, Fiji and of course New Zealand.
During these years, he has trained and qualified as a Diving Instructor and commercial dive operator, Managed and operated a number of Businesses as a member of the senior management team. Trained and qualified in a Business B-comm., and Aviation Management. Trained and obtained a commercial Pilots Licence flying both small and large aircraft. Owned and operated a number of successful businesses, some of which have expanded and been FRANCHISED internationally. Phil has also completed a number of internationally recognised Multi Sport Races involving over 260kms of racing solo in ONE DAY.
Phil
Clare is a qualified teacher, but turned her back on low paid education to pursue a corporate career which took her to the UK, USA and Australia to name only a few.
Having lived and worked in Scotland, and London, including New York, Clare also has a love for the cultures and experiences that others bring to the LODGE.
Sales Manager of a PARIS based company, Clare has at one time had over 260 sales people looking to her for inspiration, and she has it, no questions asked.
Clare loves jogging, and hiking, and looks after the Lodge organic Vegetable gardens, and free range Chicks.
You will not easily find a host with the sincere passion Clare has, and the love of great food and fantastic wines to match are one skill Clare excels in.
Clare is the Financial Director, and Chairperson of a number of personal and Local Companies, and loves the social aspect.
